Progress!!
With the new garage I've had time to start thinking about this kit again.
I've unboxed the MaxxFan's I bought to steal their housing. I like their housing it seems to be good and strong. And the grating is going to be useful as well. It's mostly going to be an issue of attaching the motors to the front rigidly enough.
Here are some pictures of the fans before tearing them apart.
And comparing them to the propellers for the hovercraft.
